The Independent Schools' Council (ISC) has announced that its legal challenge to the UK government's recently implemented policy of VAT on independent school fees will be heard in the High Court in April. Following the Labour government's confirmation in its budget last October that VAT of 20 per cent was to be charged on independent school fees from January 2025, the ISC said that it was planning to launch legal action against the policy.
