Charity leaders are being urged to prepare their workforce for the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI), which will affect all aspects of operations, from fundraising to service delivery. Zoe Amar, chair of the Charity AI Task Force, stressed that the future will favour those who create AI tools, use them effectively, or hold roles that cannot be automated. While many charities are already adopting AI, Amar warned that rapid automation could worsen inequalities and urged collaboration, data sharing, and ethical, human-centred approaches. She cautioned against cutting services solely to save costs, advocating instead for AI to augment staff talents and preserve the vital human connections at the heart of charitable work.
