Lumina Tutoring presents an extraordinary opportunity for our sector to collaborate and demonstrate the remarkable, tangible impact of working collectively to shift the dial for care-experienced young people.

Lumina Tutoring is a transformative, collaboration amongst like-minded independent schools that breaks down barriers and empowers vulnerable young people to achieve their full potential.

Lumina is requesting all independent schools who believe passionately in the transformative power of education to nominate 3 volunteers to teach on the Lumina programme.

The programme provides personalised, one-to-one online tutoring and mentorship, fostering academic success, building self-esteem, and creating a network of support for care-experienced students - at no cost whatsoever either to the schools, young people, carers or local authorities. Currently, there are 17 partner schools committed to closing the attainment gap and ensuring that all care-experienced young people, regardless of their circumstances, have the opportunity of a brighter future.

It will make an enormous difference to the life chances of a young person in care.
